Integrity. Do you have it? Is it a priority to you? Is it a characteristic of who people claim you to be? Do you find yourself losing it? Do you value it?

Integrity: honesty, principle, honour, virtue, goodness, morality, purity, righteousness, probity, rectitude, truthfulness, trustworthiness, incorrubtibility, uprightness, scrupulousness, reputability.

Athletes have lost it. Spouses have lost it. Business men and women have lost it. Kids have lost it. Parents have lost it. Co-workers have lost it. Pastors have lost it.

People trade it for “success” and compromise it for “pleasure”. It’s the one thing we need and unfortunate thing we’re missing, especially in the church. I once read a quote that said “Life without integrity is like spiritual scolois”. Integrity is the opposite of manipulation. It is doing the right thing, even when it’s difficult.

In giving from our heart, our soul, our mind and without the need for acceptance or materialistic gain, we can receive the gift of unmeasurable value. By grasping every opportunity to do the right thing, by realizing that there is never a wrong time to do what is right, we will truly define our character as one with integrity.

Ooh Baby, baby!

28 Oct

So my best friend from forever is about to have her baby boy, Maddox, any minute. In fact, I check my phone every minute on the dot to make sure i haven’t missed the text that says, “He’s Coming!” Her and i have been through a lot together and it’s crazy to think that we are now old enough to have babies of our own. This week has been tough for various reasons and I keep praying that Maddox would get here so something good can come out of this week. Have you ever been through one of those weeks where you just can’t believe things are happening the way they are and grown men and women are acting the way they are?! I’m past the point of shocked and have entered the realm of disbelief. I am a strong believer in God’s perfect timing, which is why I believe that this baby is coming sooner than later becuase God knows that some of us really need to see that something good can still come in this world. Babies are fresh from Jesus’ loving hands to ours and it’s always such a divine moment holding a newborn in your arms that you know was perfectly created from God himself. So pure and innocent and loved more than they’ll know.

Jesus, we could all use something good to happen around this town. We could all use a reminder that your still at work within each of us and that just like this baby boy, you have crafted us with a purpose and a plan to do great things. It’s frightneing sometimes to think of the world babies are being born in today. Use me to be part of the change, use me to be part of the solution. I don’t just want to be your hands and feet, but your arms, your love, your compassion, your voice. Every good and perfect gift comes from you, thank you for reminding me of that today. You always know exactly what I need.

The fullness of Your grace is here with me
The richness of Your beauty’s all I see
The brightness of Your glory has arrived
In Your presence God, I’m completely satisfied

For You I sing I dance
Rejoice in this divine romance
Lift my heart and my hands
To show my love, to show my love

A deep deep flood, an Ocean flows from You
Of deep deep love, yeah it’s filling up the room
Your innocent blood, has washed my guilty life
In Your presence God I’m completely satisfied

*This song was on a CD that my cousins gave me for my birthday. Little did they know, it was exactly what I needed. I find myself putting this song on repeat everytime I’m in my car. Sometimes lyrics just move you and cause you to respond. Does that ever happen to you?

Goodbye Matt & Joanna :(

26 Oct

Me & Jo

Some friends of mine are moving to New York this week :(, I’m happy about their promotion, but sad that they won’t be around anymore! Never in my life have I met a girl who loves football as much as Joanna! Even though she’s a avid Colt’s fan, I still love her 😉 We threw them a going away party last night, here are a couple pictures from my phone since my digital camera decided not to work!

Senior night

26 Oct

So Friday night was our last home game of the season, which is also the game where we recogonize all of our seniors! A few of these girls I have known since they were in 5th grade and it is bittersweet to see them getting ready to graduate! Crazy! Here are a few pictures from the game!

…some say…

24 Oct

Some say my expectations are impossible. Some say my standards are too high. Some say I’m too picky. I feel blessed to not be part of the ‘some’. Is it too much to believe that someone out there might be just the one I’m looking for? Someone who…

  • makes me laugh so hard that it makes my stomach hurt
  • actually knows what it means to have a job and keep one
  • isn’t just looking for another relationship
  • believes in Jesus which actually causes him to live in such a way
  • knows the game of football and not just pretends to
  • loves his family but doesn’t cling or depend on them
  • isn’t one person to some, yet changes for others
  • has his own life and doesn’t overly involve himself in mine
  • wont freak a girl out with the word marriage or love within the first few weeks of knowing her
  • is independent enough to be okay with the fact that not everybody loves 8 hour phone calls everyday
  • has a fine appreciation and outright love for Will Farrell (and won’t misquote him:))
  • would call me, way before he attempted talking to me on any social network.

That’s not too much to ask is it? 🙂

carmel corn, cocoa and carving ;)

24 Oct

I’m not a big Halloween fan, but I do love carving pumpkins every year! Lastnight I had Cassi and Chloe over to carve some pumpkins! I made some delicious pizza, carmel corn mixed with choc. chips, mallows and m & m’s, along with some hot cocoa and apple cider. Mmm….I do love fall!

Happy Halloween ya’ll!

The Day the World Runs

The Human Race 10k…10.24.09

Seriously, October 24th is a big day in this world. So many events taken place and I want to be involved in them all. So, after my day of volunteering tomorrow, I am then going to participate the Human Race. There’s no actual event in WA, but I registered online along with my nike+ and I’m going to attempt the 10k. If you’ve read my couch potato to 5k blog below, you will see that this attempt is already failed ;). While I don’t plan on running the entire 10k becuase i physically don’t think that I can quite yet, my goal is to run atleast 5 miles of it. I’ll keep you posted on the sight that this shall be! haha. To register yourself go to

Make A Difference!

23 Oct

…Make A Difference Day, October 24, 2009

How did I not know about this national day?! I am one of those people who really do love to serve, but unfortunately find myself talking more about serving than actually doing it. I am one of those girls who loves being busy. I have always had mulitple jobs and coached something and lead somewhere and ontop of all of that I want to make a difference. I came across the Make a difference day website somehow, i don’t even remember and I immediately signed myself. I hesitated at first because it requires me to give up my Saturday morning (desperately needed)  beauty sleep ;), but then I decided its now or never. I really am so stinkin excited to volunteer. If you are in the same boat as I am, talking up a storm about how you’d like to volunteer, but rarely do…visit to find opportunties in your area. Every little bit helps and I always find that when I volunteer to make a difference in somebody elses life, it always makes a difference in my own.

Happy volunteering America!
